By Stephen Hake and John Saxon,

Saxon Math 54 is the first math text used in the Robinson Curriculum. Children who have learned to read and have mastered their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts through 12, are usually able to self-teach with this textbook using the Robinson method. Math 54 will introduce how to add and subtract with up to three digit numbers, read time, write the numbers, simplify fractions, basic geometry, decimal numbers, number lines, basic units, simple graphs, and much more. Saxon Math uses an incremental development approach where the concepts introduced early on are practiced and reviewed constantly in later problem sets until they become second nature to the student. This approach works exceptionally well with the self-teaching methodology of the Robinson Curriculum. The set includes the student text, solutions manual, and test booklet.
